Vivianna as a character first off is such an easy likable character she follows her heart and wants the best for those around her She accepts a job at the Quelmirian Palace and has no idea that its going to and has no idea that its going to change her life pretty drastically First thing I do want to mention about Villager is that the story plays out pretty smoothly Savanna is very good at keeping the flow of the story going without adding to many unnecessary details or leaving out any important ones Each character has their own personality and they each come with a pretty concrete backstory I also want to mention that anything that is not addressed which I don t think is much is only because those are details for the next book Speaking of which.
It has a mix of like heavyantasy mixed in with some newer technological aspects towards the end that I really wasn t expecting at all and I love how it all ties in together Over all I definitely recommend Villager or pretty much anything Savanna writes to be totally honest. How to get mending book from villager I m very very excited for book two and I can t wait to see how all the characters grow from the events in Villager and I m so excited to see the Baylan Isles Definitely a 2019 favorite for me Villager Quelmirian Duology.
Keeping it interesting and her character s reactions authentic without feeling exploitative I actually really enjoyed Nex s character arc Watching him grow and change over the course of the duology has been really interesting How Kallimene interacts with him introduced a fascinating conflict How Vivianna helps him manage his panic attacks was really cool to see too Savanna tells the story from multiple first person perspectives and manages to keep all their voices distinct This style of writing is very much a thing that makes me think of her writing as I have seen it elsewhere a couple times but not very often or as expertly as she does it Some elements to the plot were a little bit predictable.
Roberts is becoming one of my must buy authors She was such a lovely way with words that just pulls me in and makes me feel as though I am experiencing things with the amazing characters she writes about Villager is Book 1 in the Quelmirian Doulogy and I cannot recommend it enough Though warning you will want book 2 really badly as soon as you finish Roberts bring each character to life I found myself on edge waiting to see what would happen My heart was ripped out when Vivianna s mom leaves all of them Vivianna s dad worked hard but it was so clear he loved his wife and I felt so badly for him now that he was left with two kids to continue raising on his own Heartbroken and down one income the family works hard to try to make ends meets and Vivianna ends up jumping at the chance to provide for her and takes a job at the palace The story that unfolds during her time there is incredible The relationships she forms She must choose what to do and who to trust and questions if she makes the correct choice or not I will admit I saw the twist at the end but I still enjoyed reading it and seeing exactly how it would play out The ending had me letting out a huge sign wishing I could read now I need to know what is going to happen next This is a book I would highly recommend It is well written entertaining and full of emotions Villager Quelmirian Duology 1 I won this book in a giveaway from the author and I got through most of it in one sitting It s an easy read flows well from sentence to sentence and uses unexpectedly modern language for a fantasy novel The first half of this book is slow and immersive The world building in this book is rich developed and obviously something the author thought through a great deal Sometimes it is such a focus that you will get pulled away from the plot for pages to describe a well system or the preparing of exoticood but overall it still kept my attention and I came to settle in and enjoy the descriptions of everyday life among the people of Quelmir. Villager minecraft The characters were very real very human very flawed to the point where I didn t know who exactly I was rooting for especially in the middle towards the end Characters jump to wild conclusions refuse to communicate with each other or ask questions and there were some moments where I thought I don t think that character would do that so I didn t always feel like I knew them properly I like not being able to predict where a story is going and the plot twist did keep me guessing for a few chapters so kudos to the author for the suspense factor there The one thing that kept throwing me off was the constant POV changes I really liked Vivianna and then Nex when he was added in but the other 4 seemed a little excessive and I would have preferred to find out certain crucial plot details via Vivianna s POV Also there was no clear distinction of voice between the POV characters and sometimes I had to flip back to the start of the chapter to remember whose head we were in That said it was still engaging and it made me get through the book faster because I really wanted to get back to my favorite character whenever someone else came up. EPub villagers minecraft Not to give any spoilers but that cliffhanger was completely unfair and I didn t see it coming until I was about 10 pages away with no resolution in sight Definitely interested in reading the sequel and seeing how this all pans out Villager Quelmirian Duology 1 A few months ago Savanna came to me in search of a beta reader for book 2 in this duology I was traumatized because I hadn t ready Villager yet but this lovely writer gave me an ARC in exchange for an honest review so I could beta read book two She s seriously the sweetest 3 I loved this story Filled with intrigue lovable characters and world building it was very easy to fall into the depth of this world The only complaint I have if you can even call it that was the first person present tense narration It s no secret at this point that I prefer third person But having first on top of the present tense was just a bit challenging for me to fully get into I ve also never read a fantasy story in present tense That s not saying the story was bad by any means In fact I really did love it D it was just a bit trickyor me to completely submerge myself. Science Fiction villager But put my personal preferences aside and the story was wonderful If you haven t picked this one up yet be sure you do Roberts does a lovely job of leaving you wanting Good thing book two s release is right around the corner Villager Quelmirian Duology 1 Villager is the first book in the Quelmirian Duology and im gonna tell you this but you ll see it in other reviews too put your seat belt on this ride is wild and you know what im not getting off it haha The story follows the MC Vivianna on her journey to pull her family forward after her mother abandons the familyor another man Savanna I need book two as soON AS POSSIBLE THANKS. Science Fiction villager I obviously don t want to give anything away but I will say I love prince Nex so so so much I also of course love Vivianna right from the beginning I love her The story mainlyollows them but of course we have a couple others Tyde my poor nervous child Kallimene Princess Fiatina and Reeve who I cannot wait to see of in book two Who doesn t like a sassy pirate Now the actual plot of the book vnekhbhkbdhksfjhs IM A MESS Okay let me compose myself. Villager jim website Oh and I also want to mention how the life in the village reminds me of the villages in Skyrim and I love love love that I love how Savanna did the fantasy in this series 1 I read an eARC from the author but I just ordered both books in the duology Roberts is an amazing author and great at telling unique stories I love her creativity with the Quelmirian world the vibrancy and the culture She has created a type of Island fantasy that gives me some Moana and Black Panther vibes while remaining her very own style of creativity The world building is great but Roberts real strength has always been in her characters and this new set has been great to watch over the course of the story Vivianna s family drama instantly captured my attention The struggles she went through were ones I have wondered how to handle or how people would react and cope in the real world I think Roberts handles it well but overall it was an enjoyable and interesting read Roberts is one of those young authors I am excited to watch grow and create When I read her work it is hard to put down Villager Quelmirian Duology 1 I read a eARC of this book from the author. Villager ai voice Now I have to wait until fall for the sequel Uggghhhhhhh XDVillager was a fast paced quick read with a solid story and unique fantasy world Personally I prefer longer books so I rather wish some plot elements had been a little bit slower to develop and explored I especially wish there had been scenes developing Vivi s and especially Nex s emotions and relationship so it would feel less primarily physical but I still liked them I liked how sweet and gentle and genuine Vivianna is without being weak Roberts did a good job of winning sympathy for Nex and the second scene with Nex and Vivi is probably my favorite scene in the entire book The other characters also are interesting and all unique from each other. Kindle villager news There s a great plot twist that kept me guessing toward the end which is when things got much intriguing And then the very end made me want to the sequel which is most of why I pushed it up to four stars Really my biggest complaint being I would have liked isn t a bad thing it means I liked the world and characters enough I wanted to get to know them better Villager Quelmirian Duology 1 I read an eARC of this book from the author. PDF villager trades This book s strengths spoiler free It s a fast moving novel set in an intricate textured story world The small daily life details were enchanting and I was easily entertained by reading about a simple tasks like cooking breakfast and selecting clothes The society s ways of interacting and structuring communally beneficial tasks was also really cool The story held my attention and I got through it in a single sitting It s good for a plane subway bus car ride or a quiet evening at home I m interested to see where the next volume takes us and I ll be picking it up Also Reeves was a delight 10 10 want to know from Reeves I love Reeves Voteor Reeves. Science Fiction villager More detailed review some spoilers The characters like real people are deeply flawed I would have loved to see some space dedicated to unpacking some of Vivianna s assumptions and some of the reasoning behind her actions why she seems afraid one moment and almost careless the next Additionally the story could use to unpack and confront Nex s toxic unsettling behaviors losing his patience throwing things not talking things out when he should and his expectations and presentations of masculinity not showing emotion his internalized ideas of what a king should and shouldn t seem like While Nex has some relatable moments imho his anxiety is well written and resonated with some of my own experiences his moments of impatience anger and entitlement were a bit too difficult to stomach in some scenes I guess Nex s flaws were a bit harder for me to empathize with Perhaps it s just a personal thing as I tend to be conflict averse I would love to see Nex unpack and grow in this area in the following book His expectations for his own masculinity and kingship often made him seem cruel and detached and there s one scene that definitely resonated as abusive to me While his brokenness is real it s hard for me to fully trust him especially after his response to Viv in one particular scene If Viv was a friend I would tell her to get out of that relationship after reading that section So in that way while the characters flaws are a strength in this case they were also a bit of a weakness since Nex became unlikeable to me after that point and I need to see him openly confront these things in his life and grow here to earn my trust back Villager Quelmirian Duology 1 The premise of the plot is what drew me in and led me to buying this duology but there was a lot left to be desired STORY ARC The pacing was good enough and the story itself was just interesting enough to keep me going to the end of the book. Villager jim website WORLDBUILDING The world had a lot of great aspects that made it seem well built but there were many flaws throughout the book that I could not ignore For instance the map makes this world seem like a large island yet it is only a 15 minute walk from Vivianna s house to the palace Then the entire island is actually one village with different sections such as the mining section which can be traveled all in a day as evidenced by Vivianna s father going to another section for work This just doesn t make any sense to me How do they have all the things they do coins for money stone to build a palace a good array of ingredients for foods etc on such a small island with no other country with which to trade and no hierarchy besides villager palace servant or royal family member The laws seemed to be there solely to help the plot For example a royal can marry a villager but not a palace servant seeing as there are no other royals or even any noble families none of this makes sense anyways On the note of laws it is treason to divorce and remarry yet when Vivianna s mother does that very thing it seems only Vivianna her brother and her father get any scorn but her mother is shown as happy as can be with no repercussions CHARACTERS RELATIONSHIPS The minor characters were interesting than the main characters I liked the pirate whose name is slipping my mind and the Prince s best friend Reeve because they both had depth Vivianna was interesting and had some depth but she did some stupid things that I just cannot get behind She believed rumors over her own knowledge of Nex and sided with Kallimene based on these feelings alone Aside from that Kallimene is a person she hardly knows so she shouldn t blindly believe in his innocence either Nex had good intentions and I can see he maybe has some anxiety I have no experience with this so I am only guessing but he becomes rather cruel to Vivianna in a particular scene just because he didn t get what he wanted which if he did get it would have been a careless and stupid decision. PDF villager As for Kallimene I knew instantly why he is an angry person in general Basically he hates that they only keep him in the palace out of pity and they only think poorly of him etc I already knew that the villain of the book was the same person all along but the author did do a decent job in trying to hide that. Fantasy villagers addon THE ENDING At the end Kallimene is able to be in a room with just the queen princess prince Nex now king Reeve and Vivianna Kallimene has a knife to Vivianna s side threatening to take her life if Nex does not give up the royal cuffs marking him king Now I get that he had to give up the cuffs to try and save Vivianna and of course Kallimene knifes her anyway In the aftermath though Tyde and Reeve could have easily tackled Kallimene especially while Kallimene attacked Maddan Even if that never happened what is Kallimene going to do now Obviously he couldn t kill them all they escaped seemingly unharmed except for Vivianna so they could have just woken everyone in the castle gotten someone to help Vivianna and then subdue Kallimene This ending just wasn t believable to me Honestly this book wasn t horrible but it wasn t great either The plot was a good starting point but this book needed substance I think it could have had a indepth plot consistency and interactions between the characters adding to the plot that would have made for a better story overall I did enjoy Nex s sister and their friend from the Baylan islands so I will probably read the second book Villager Quelmirian Duology 1 Yes okay was it a little dramatic than I usually care for Sure But gosh darn it if it wasn t a boatload or an airshipload of fun I really liked the characters a lot Viviana was an awesome protagonist and I did love Nex right off the bat because as we ve discussed bad guys who aren t so bad are my favorite 3 Most especially the ones who fall in love with the soft beans In other news Vivi and Nex s relationship was so shippable and I loved it There were a few of the side characters I didn t super care for but I don t think I was supposed to so we re good but there were several I fell in love with Namely Reeve and Tyde I love those guys Also I just have to squeal for a minute about the worldbuilding because AH It was so cool There s magic but not in this part of the world There are pirates but they sail airships There s a pantheon of gods but they are benevolent for the most part It s like Savanna took some of my favorite tropes and turned them on their heads and I m so happy And also I read this in basically one sitting Which is always a good sign So yeah I d recommend it if you want some fantasy with some self discovery royal assassination and shippable ships and actual ships I need book 2 now please. Villager Science fiction books 5 5Roberts does an amazing job of creating a lush world full of history religion and folklore intriguing characters and a fast moving plot I was drawn in from page one and absolutely wanted to know where the story would take me next I do wish though that there had been expansion in some areas such as character relationships I m personally a big fan of character driven plots Even though we know time passed I would have liked to SEE the build up rather than just read a brief passage about it Overall a very good read and I can t wait to get my hands on book two Villager Quelmirian Duology 1
